This print is the second collaboration between artist RYR and Cypherpunk Now as the screen printer and publisher, following the release of Silkroad Mirage for the Bitcoin Conference Amsterdam 2025.
The artwork was created by RYR and produced as a hand-pulled screen print by Cypherpunk Now in Prague.
CONTEXT:
What at first glance appears to be an ordinary sneaker reveals itself upon closer inspection as something deeply subversive.The entire shoe is constructed from bundles of cash — each one composed of satoshis, the smallest unit of what redefined the world of money.
No leather. No synthetics. Pure, compressed capital, pressed into form, made to be used. Got it ?
The title is a tweet. Two words, posted on January 11, 2009. Hal Finney, cryptographer, runner, first recipient of a Bitcoin transaction wrote „Running bitcoin" shortly after firing up the node.
The inspiration, a photograph, shows him in full stride, unstoppable.
This shoe does not run. It is the running. Held together through millions of the smallest units just like the network it honors.
SCREEN PRINTING:
Precisely hand-pulled using 9 layers of color, including hand-mixed gradient transition. Each print is slightly unique due to this process.
